In spring 2022 Travelling Gallery was delighted to work in partnership with BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art.  What’s For Tea? was part of a series of projects and events marking BALTIC’s 20th anniversary year. The exhibition explored food production and consumption, what we eat and how our eating habits could help combat the climate emergency.

Works by Isabella Carreras, Kara Chin, Turner Prize-nominated duo Cooking Sections, artist collective Future Farmers, Asunción Molinos Gordo, Julia Heslop, David Lisser and Sarah Qaed explored sustainable food production and community initiatives through film, installation, sculpture, print and the written word.

The exhibition toured throughout North East England in the Travelling Gallery, between February and June 2022, before returning to visit venues in Edinburgh and finishing the tour at BALTIC’s 20th anniversary celebrations in Gateshead in July.
