The first artwork to adorn our current vehicle (though the third Travelling Gallery bus) was by artist Mandy McIntosh back in 2007. Mandy’s design was a colourful graphic of trees in the landscape.
Mandy’s relationship with the Travelling Gallery has spanned over a decade with her work being included in a number of exhibitions in the space.
Mandy’s work was a huge compliment to the gallery and to the values and aims of the organisation. Her work is inter-disciplinary and usually located among people who live in housing schemes and peripheral places. Sitting beyond notions of inclusion and social practice her work tends towards long-term, counter cultural projects made with people she works with over time.
