22nd August - 10th December

THIS LAND presented a beautifully alternative view of the Scottish Landscape, inspired by the Year of Natural Scotland, through works by artists with a diverse range of practises.

The exhibition included painting by Henry Coombes, works exploring the island of Rockall by Andy Holden, sculpture and photography by Hannah Imlach, digitally re-worked landscape photographs by Michael Reisch and Iain Sarjeant's photographs of everyday landscape taken in various locations throughout the country.

The exhibition was accompanied by a complementary programme, which included the Beta Band music video ' Inner Meet Me' by John Maclean and ' Wish You Were Here', a series of 16 postcards by Francis Davies.

AH Bastion small.JPGVisitors were also able to browse artists books by Sarah Burch, Soosan Danesh, Morag Donkin, Erin Donnelly, Amy Hutson, Louise Kernaghan, Kate McAllan, Emily Moore, Natasha Russell and Mary Walters.

During the exhibition the gallery was host to Ellie Harrison's 'Adopt a Sign' project, which was installed outside the Travelling Gallery at every location during the tour.

Areas visited by the gallery with THIS LAND included Shetland, South Ayrshire, Renfrewshire, Lewis, Harris and the Uists and the Highlands. A full itinerary and visitor figures, along with the exhibition poster and leaflet, are available to download below.
