Thomson and Craighead
Title: Flat Earth
Materials: Single channel video, projection
Flat Earth takes us on a seven minute journey around the world where we encounter a series of fragments taken from real peoples' blogs found on the worldwide web by the artists. These fragments are then knitted together to form a kind of singular documentary story.
Jon Thomson (b. London) and Alison Craighead (b. Aberdeen) are fascinated how trends of globalisation and networked global communications have been reshaping the way we all perceive and understand the world around us. They live and work in London and Kingussie making artworks and installations for galleries, museums and site-specific locations that include the worldwide web.
